Steven O'Brien was born and raised in Stillwater. In 2009 he formed the Law Office of Steven M. O'Brien in the heart of his hometown. Steve's practice focuses on transactions and litigation relating to business and corporate law, real estate and property law, construction law, estate planning and probate, and property tax appeals.
Steve's business practice involves advising businesses and startup businesses in many areas including business formation and selection of entity, advising closely held businesses, negotiating and reviewing contracts and agreements, collections, resolving disputes among shareholders, members, partners and minority shareholders, employment issues, business financing, business organizational matters and business succession.
Steve's real estate practice includes advising individuals, businesses and brokers/agents on commercial and residential transactions, boundary and zoning disputes, common interest communities (including condominiums), easements, mechanics liens, commercial and residential leases, construction matters, real estate transfers and 1031 exchanges, landlord and tenant issues, title examination and property tax appeals.
Steve is an active member of a number of organizations, including the Minnesota, Washington County and American Bar Associations, as well as the Stillwater Area Chamber of Commerce and the Stillwater Lions Club.
